Terms and conditions
Last updated: 3 November 2026
These terms cover buying from The Dublin Butcher through our website, and the gift cards and loyalty points that go with it. They sit alongside our privacy policy. If you shop with us you agree to them. They don't take away any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
The Dublin Butcher is operated by Cash & Koch Meats Pty Ltd (ABN 35 640 082 551), Shop 23, The Centre, Forestville NSW 2087.
1. Ordering online
- Prices are in Australian dollars. Prices include GST.
- Bundle and event-box discounts in the online shop are taken off the bundle's own packs when you pay, as long as your order still has every pack in the bundle. If you take a pack out, that bundle's discount no longer applies. Anything you add on top is charged at its normal price.
- Your order is a request to buy until we confirm it. We may cancel an order if an item is out of stock or a price was shown wrongly. If we do, we will tell you and refund everything you paid.
- Card payments are taken securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Please check your details and your pick-up or delivery choice before you pay.
2. Weighed items and the final price
Meat is a natural product, so weights vary. How that works depends on which kind of order you place.
- Online shop (paid by card). Online shop orders are fixed packs, charged at the pack price shown when you pay. The weight is printed on each pack. If a pack is clearly short of its stated weight, tell us and we will refund the difference.
- Christmas pre-orders (a deposit online, the rest online or in the shop). Christmas pre-orders are different: you pay a 20% deposit online when you order, the rest online or in the shop when you collect, and items sold by weight are charged on the actual weight. The size you pick is an estimate, so the final price can come in a little under or over it. If the total would be noticeably over the estimate we will call you before you pay.
3. Pick-up and delivery
- Click & Collect. Orders are ready in about 20 minutes, Monday to Friday. There is no minimum order. Please collect your order on the day you chose. Fresh meat can't be held for long.
- Local delivery. We deliver on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 12pm to 4pm, to Belrose, Davidson, Forestville, Killarney Heights, Frenchs Forest, Roseville, Roseville Chase, Artarmon, Chatswood, Castle Cove and Willoughby. Delivery is free on orders over $75, and the minimum order for delivery is $75.
- If nobody is home. Please be home in your window. If we can't hand your order over, we will phone you. We won't leave raw meat or seafood unattended unless you have told us to in writing on the order, and an order left at your request is at your risk once delivered. If we can't reach you within 15 minutes, we will take the order back to the shop and either refund it or rebook it if you ask.
- Keeping it cold. Deliveries travel in our refrigerated van, kept at 5°C or below, and we log the van's temperature. Raw meat and seafood must stay at 5°C or below, so please put your delivery in the fridge as soon as it arrives.
- Once your order is collected or handed over, keep it chilled and follow the use-by date on the pack.
4. Pre-orders, including Christmas
- Christmas and other pre-orders are for collection on the date you choose. Ordering closes on the cut-off date shown on the order form (for Christmas 2026 that is 16 December 2026).
- Weights and prices of festive items change from year to year, so we confirm the final weight and price when we prepare your order. When you order on the website you pay a deposit online (or the whole estimate), and the rest online or in the shop when you collect, for the weight you actually receive (see 4A below). An order taken by the shop on the phone or at the counter is paid as agreed with the shop.
- You can change or cancel a pre-order free of charge until the cut-off, using your order reference and phone number on the order lookup page, or by calling us. After the cut-off, call the shop and we will do our best to change it, but we can't promise to.
- Please collect on your chosen day. If you can't, call us before then and we will rebook it. If you don't collect and don't contact us, we will try to reach you. For what happens to money already paid, see 4A below.
4A. Paying for a Christmas pre-order online
When you place a Christmas pre-order on the website you pay part of it online by card: a deposit (20% of the estimate), or the whole estimate if you prefer. The rest of a deposit order can be paid online, before or when you collect, or in the shop when you collect. The exact amounts are shown before you pay. Your order is confirmed when the online payment goes through. It is held for 2 hours while you pay; if it isn't paid by then, the order is cancelled and the items go back on sale.
- What you pay online is based on the estimate. The estimate is the price shown on the order form for the weight shown. Meat is sold by weight, so the final price is set when we weigh your order. A deposit is part of the price, not an extra fee.
- Settling up when we weigh your order. If the final price is less than you paid online, we refund the difference, to the card you paid with or, if you prefer, in the shop. If the final price is more than you have paid, you pay the difference online or in the shop when you collect, and if it would be noticeably more we will call you before you pay. How long a card refund takes to show depends on your bank.
- Changing your order. You can add to your order until the cut-off and pay the extra online or in the shop. To make it smaller than what you have paid, cancel it and order again, or call us.
- Cancelling. The rule that applies to money paid online is shown at checkout. The standard rule is that if you cancel on or before the cut-off we refund what you paid online in full, and if you cancel after the cut-off we keep it, unless we agree otherwise. Refunds go back to the card you paid with.
- If you don't collect. Call us. We will rebook it or deal with it under the cancellation rule above. Food that is no longer safe to sell can't be resold; we will tell you what applies.
- Your rights. Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including a remedy if goods are not of acceptable quality or are not as described. Card payments are taken securely by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
5. Changes, cancellations and refunds
- Everyday online orders: you can change or cancel your order, for a full refund, until 24 hours before your pick-up or delivery time. Call us on (02) 9451 6840.
- If something is wrong with your order, such as the wrong item, a missing item or a quality problem, tell us straight away and we will make it right with a replacement or a refund.
- If an item arrives spoiled, damaged or not as described, please tell us within 24 hours of receiving it, with a photo if you can, and we will replace or refund it. This is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
- If you don't collect a prepaid order on the day you chose, call us. We will rebook it or refund it, unless the food is no longer safe to sell. If the food can no longer be sold, we will talk to you about what we can refund.
- Refunds go back to the original payment method. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing in these terms limits them.
6. Allergens, ingredients and product images
- Many of our products are made in our own kitchen and may contain or have been near gluten, egg, milk, soy, nuts, fish, crustacea, molluscs and sulphites. We can't guarantee any product is free of traces. Ask us for the allergen and ingredient details of any product before you order.
- Product images on the website are illustrations. The actual product, cut, portion and packaging may vary.
7. Gift cards
- Gift cards are valid for three years from the date of purchase. The expiry date is shown on the card.
- There are no fees of any kind. If you spend part of a card, the rest stays on it until it expires.
- Gift cards can be used online and in the shop. Check a balance on the balance page.
- Treat the card code like cash: anyone with the code can spend it. Contact us if a card is lost or you think a code has been shared by mistake and we will help where we can.
- Gift cards can't be exchanged for cash, except where the law says we must.
8. Loyalty points and referrals
- Members earn 1 point for every $1 paid on online shop orders, and 50 points for joining.
- 300 points is worth 15% off an order. You can use one reward per order, and a reward can never take an order below $0. You can use points and a gift card on the same order, and you can use points on sale items.
- When you refer a friend and they place their first paid order, you and your friend each get 100 points once that order is complete and not refunded. A referral is only counted once. You can't refer yourself, and you and your friend each need your own account, email address and phone number.
- The referral link is for you to share yourself. We never email or text your friends on your behalf.
- Points have no cash value and can't be transferred or sold.
- Points do not currently expire. If we ever introduce an expiry, we will email members at least 30 days before it takes effect, and it will not apply to points you have already earned until then.
- If an order is refunded, the points earned on it are taken back, and points you used on it are returned.
- We may change the rules or end the program. We will give members at least 30 days' notice of any change that reduces what points are worth, and points earned before the change keep their value for that period.
- If we think the program is being misused, we may remove points or close an account, but we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond first.
9. Your account
Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. Please give us correct details so we can reach you about your order.
10. Our responsibility
We take great care with every order. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
11. Changes to these terms, and the law
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last updated. A change does not alter an order you have already placed. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
